love my cayenne ... ( 2 weeks ago by dogtown66)
love my cayenne Turbo..i've abused it for 22 with another two Cayennes 22 days straight in very inclement weather and terrain (LA to Manaus in Brazil). Two flats and an interior dome light were my breakdowns. Needless to say very comfortable, quiet and rapid ride. If u like Jeeps, more power to u.

Nlot great, but very impressive. It seems that all european SUVs (cayanne, range rover(I know its owned by ford but Id consider it european) toureg) have all the offroading TECHNOLOGY (tuned suspensions, awd, locking diffs) but they dont have the core basics of ground clearence and large tires.... theyll never be as good as american offroad SUVs (Jeep, Hummer, etc.)

Compare stock ... ( 2 weeks ago by paddle4121)
Compare stock vehicles to stock vehicles - the Cayenne is as capable as a jeep, etc. The clear differences are basic engineering - the Jeep is not even in the same league. A vehicle that can go off road and then be high performance on road is something that domestics cannot. Oh, then try take a look at resale later.....
Resale has nothing ... ( 2 weeks ago by xzachx2112)
Resale has nothing to do with the performance of a car (its just as relevent as color choices) Anyway, Jeep are a bad example, they are basicly a clean slate to creat an offroad vehicle on.... Tak a hummer (H2 for example) and you'l have all the technology (diff lock, TC, suspension) and have the same or better app/departureanges as a European SUV plus it has 9 inches of ground clearence at the LOWEST poing and 35 inch tires!
paddle your ... ( 2 weeks ago by CessnaZeroNinerZero)
paddle your statement about the Jeep is incorrect. The Cayenne is far more capable offroad than the SRT8 GC. However the Porsche has as much of a chance beating a STOCK Rubicon offroad as the Rubicon has beating it in the quarter mile. If only Jeep could somehow combine the high points of the Rubicon and SRT8. Domestics could do it they just don't. It's not that there just a bunch of dumb engineers who aren't capable of doing so. The demand isn't great enough to justify it to them.

The Hummer H2 is a ... ( 1 week ago by paddle4121)
The Hummer H2 is a rebadged GM. Lets see how that good old GM know how runs after 20k miles. I'm biased - I admit that. Took my Cayenne S into the Mojave desert today. With the air-suspension (8.5 - 10.7" adjustable clearence), 21" sport tires, and PASM, and I was able to go everywhere my Toyota Land Cruiser friends were able to go off road just South of China Lake. Oh, but that was after having them meet me there after 140+ mph open runs getting there.
I would agree - its ... ( 1 week ago by paddle4121)
I would agree - its also about price points. There are very few cars that can do both on and off road and do both ends as best in class. The Cayenne was the first step in that direction, much in the sense like giving on-road performance to a Range Rover. I'm not sure I would want a vehicle to be an H1 in off road, if it were something I would drive around town everyday.
I lost faith in you ... ( 1 week ago by xzachx2112)
I lost faith in you after y said the H2 was a re-badged GM... just shows that your too ignorant to even look at the H2 and see what its capable of. You just beleive the stereotypes and other bullshit. (and dont call me ignorant or biased, because I took the time to see a cayanne perform offroad) and "performing offroad" is a VERY generous statement towards what the porsche does. Porsche should stick to doing what it does bst, carting around spoiled blondies... NOT offroading!
the h2 is too heavy ... ( 1 week ago by cjbjetz)
the h2 is too heavy and wide to do any real offroading. how hypocritical is it of you to call others ignorant believers in stereotypical bullshit but only to make a blanket statement about what porsches are made to do? they are performance road cars

Hey man, dont mean to call you out on this but you have no right to call out someone for being ignorant for calling an H2 a rebadged GM when thats exactly what it is. Before u tell someone to look into it, do it urself. GM made the H2 of their SUV frame, built the heavy hunk of metal that it is, and called it a hummer. Hummers have nothing offroad compared to Jeeps/Lanrovers/x-terras. H1s yes, but as far as the new hummers go the H3 is the only one that performs alright offroad.
HAHA rebadged Gm... ... ( 1 day ago by xzachx2112)
HAHA rebadged Gm... The H2 is built on a tahoe platform but with a fully boxed frame (it is more rigid than any other SUV) a 2500 series drivetrain (HD parts) offroad tuned suspension, 35 inch all-terrain tires, locking rear differentials and stabilitrac, 10" ground clearence. 60% slope capacity and 40% grade (recomended, not maximum) 24" fording depth and amazing approach/departure angles plus rocker-pannel protecion full skid plates and too much more to list... Rebadged Gm my ASS!!
Sorry, rebadge ... ( 21 hours ago by adgraybda)
Sorry, rebadge tahoe, either way its still hell lot of steel on an SUVs frame. Btw new Jeep wranglers have same ground clearance, slope capacity, grade, and 30" fording depth (also recomended, not max). Also has full skids, and rock rails, and it doesnt just have locking rear diffs, but both front and rear locking diffs (like a real offroader should) along with sway bar disconects and Solid axles, not IFS road comfort junk. All for about 20k less..and it wont break under its own weight offroad.

Yup, Jeeps are great. But that doesnt change the fact that H2's are NOT... N-O-T rebadged Gms tahoes.. whatever! they are their own, very capable vehicle! Why dont you take a look at this vid and get some (much needed) background info on the H2 watch?v=WQ4cFN1m3Sg&feature=channel_page
