Layne became a recluse after his fiance died, broke all ties with everybody but his sister and a few others. Even they wouldn't talk to him for weeks at a time.
Not to sound like a dick as I love his music as much as the next fan but its not anybody's fault but his own it happened this way.

What I was trying to say is its not Jerry or anybody's fault.
He had been to rehab many times but his addictions finally got the best of him as with many other great performers.

These guys are so fucking amazingly fucking A+++ fucking material, so often and so reliably it just blows my fucking mind.
Where other bands use multiple layers and their live shit sounds really off and lost, these guys just fucking nail it live.

I love Nirvana and Kurt Kobain was amazing, but AIC is the better band and they're totally underrated. Lane was as good as Kurt if not better. AIC was always sincere in their lyrics, and i always thought Nirvana used too much irony where it bordered on self-parody. AIC uses metaphors but they're always serious and put out the aural catharthism of what they lived through. Nirvana didn't always represent who they were, he'd just put out songs with intentionally vague lyrics.

I think he knows that man. I replied to someone saying his name was Stan Layne, I asked who he was. So the other guy said hes the singer from Allison Chains as a joke. Jeez.
